Aggelos Tsakanikas is an Assistant Professor in the field of economic evaluation of technological systems at the National Technical University of Athens and Scientific Advisor to the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (FEIR / IOBE). He graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering at NTUA, where he also conducted his PhD thesis in the area of Technology Economics and Business Strategy. He has participated in various European projects in the area of socioeconomics research, entrepreneurship and information society. He has also worked as a Lecturer at the University of Peloponnese (Department of Economics) from 2003 to 2008. From May 2004 he worked in IOBE in various positions, being the Research Director from April 2012 to January 2014.

His main research interests lie in the area of technology and business strategy, economics of innovation, entrepreneurship and relevant public policies. He has been involved with numerous sectoral studies, reports on the Greek Economy, studies on entrepreneurship and competitiveness. He is also a member of the research consortium of Global Entrepreneurship Monitor while he collaborates with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of NTUA.
