Stavros Hatzakos is working in the Port of Piraeus for the last 32 years and has served in various managerial positions. Since 1993, he has been responsible for the international relationships of the Port. He is serving as General Manager since 2011. Since 2015, he is also a member of the board of Hellenic Tourism Organization.

Stavros is a founding member of MedCruise, the Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports. Having previously served as MedCruise vice-President, in 2011-2013 he was elected President of the Association. He is now member of the board and Honorary President.

He is also the representative of Piraeus and Greece in the Executive Committee of European Sea Ports Organization (ESPO) since its establishment in 1993. Since 2014 is the Chairman of the European Cruise and Ferry Ports Network (ECFPN), a committee of all the Cruise Associations in Europe and ESPO.
