Mr Sakellis was born in 1947. He studied Economics in the Greek University of Economics, followed by post-graduate studies in Shipping, in London. He started working in the shipping industry in 1975. In 1979 he was appointed as Commercial Director for Blue Star Ferries; he also served as CEO from 2004 to 2016.
Overall, Mr Sakellis is Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Attica Group, President of the Association of Passenger Shipping Companies (SEEN) and member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping and of Seamen Pension Fund (NAT), as well as member of the Council for Coastal Transportation (SAS).
