«THE CRITICAL DECISIONS»

Greece's largest business newspaper, celebrating its 100th year of circulation this year, is organizing its 8th Naftemporiki's Shipping Conference on May 15th at the Piraeus Port Authority's Stone Warehouse.

The conference's themes are as follows:

  • The relationship between shipping companies and banks. The major challenge of transitioning to a sustainable financial environment, where shipping and financial institutions focus on the present and the future.

What are the financing options and the challenges currently facing mid-sized shipping companies under the new regulations ESG 1, ETS, CII, EEXI, and EEDI.

  • Analysis of new trends and discussion of all issues in the shipping industry by leading Greek shipowners.

  • Global and regional geopolitical conflicts and trade wars. How will the shipping landscape change over the next 20 years.
  • Digital transformation, artificial intelligence, adoption of innovative technology proposals, and analysis of big data are among the parameters that will affect shipping companies. Can Greece emerge as a maritime 'silicon valley'?
  • Anthropomorphism, truths and myths.
