«SHIPPING IN DISRUPTION»

The “Naftemporiki” Financial and Business Newspaper, founded in 1924 as a Shipping & Commercial Bulletin of Port of Piraeus, is the first and the only daily financial newspaper in Greece. Recently it was named “European Newspaper of the Year”, in the 25th European Newspaper Award contest, among 136 newspapers published in 22 countries. A distinction that marked the milestone year (1924 - 2024) of being for a whole century at the service of the domestic and international Shipping, Trade, Industry and Economy. Our news media such as printed publications, websites and television channel, remain a point of reference in journalism, providing with objectivity and validity, with reliability and consistency, complete information on current affairs, analyses, interviews, opinions, and features.

In addition, Naftemporiki contributes to the public debate on the Shipping industry by organizing high-level conferences, and we are delighted to inform you that on May 28th, 2025, at Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens, the 9th Shipping Conference of Naftemporiki titled “Shipping in Disruption” will be held.

The conference's agenda focuses on following topics :

  • Greek Seafarers: Education – Readiness – Availability
  • Shipping in Disruption: Threat or Opportunity?
  • Regulatory Framework and Competition
  • The Future of Shipping: Shipbuilding & Financing – How Are They Progressing and Under What Terms?
  • Greek Shipping Cluster: A Global Maritime Hub

Every year, Naftemporiki’s Shipping Conference brings together leading representatives from the government, the business world, the academic community, as well as executives from the shipping and maritime industries. It offers an interactive experience and valuable networking opportunities. Once again this year, with the use of the Crowdmic platform, the audience will be able to actively participate through questions, comments, and polls.
