Theodore Kontes is the president of Union of Cruise Ship Owners & Associated members (EEKFN), the union which supports the cruise industry entirely in Greece. Mr. Kontes is also the Director of Majestic International Cruises, responsible of the operation entirely including Marine, Technical, Hotel ops, with up to three vessels’ in operation. He has completed his studies in Naval Architect and Marine Engineering in Greece, U.K. and U.S.A. with Master’s Degree.

After his studies, during his career he has performed duties in various positions, always in the cruise industry, some of which are:

• Phoenix S.A. : Rebuilding/repairs (Chandris Group), Managing Director
• Festival Cruises: Cruise line operator, Managing Director
• Festival Cruises Group: Worldwide cruise operator, Vice President of operation
• Festival Cruises, New buildings program in France as Vice President of new buildings/developing programs, including cruisers (Mistral, European Vision and European Star)

He is a member of various committees technical as well as shipping in general. Member of the Steering Committee for a post graduate course in the Technical University of Athens in “Ports Management”, including lectures for cruising subject and tourist ports. Member of the National Cruise Board Committee controlling cruise industry operation. He has served his services and was in the board list of Piraeus municipality in the last elections. He has received various awards in shipping during his career.
