John started his career in Goldenport Group in 2001 as a Commercial Manager of its dry bulk and container fleet. He has spent considerable amount of his time developing the business and identifying opportunities for fleet expansion through the acquisition of new building and second-hand vessels while playing a key role in the transformation of what has been a private shipping entity to a diversified shipping corporation. One of his objectives was met in April 2006 when Goldenport Holdings Inc., a holding company formed in 2005 under the scope of consolidation of part of the private shipping investments of the Dragnis Family, was admitted in the London Stock Exchange.

John was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Goldenport Holdings Inc. on April 4, 2012. He also co-founded OceanGold Tankers Inc. in 2007, a product and chemical tankers specialist that focuses on LR2, LR1 and MR2 type vessels and he was actively involved in setting up and managing a super yachts management and chartering business. He holds a degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Shipping, Trade and Finance from CASS Business School, London.
