In 1994 Hellenic Hull Management (HMA) Limited was founded in order to manage Hellenic Hull Mutual Association Plc. The Association is a non-profit insurance organization and a member of the Insurance Association of Cyprus (IAC). Over its 20 years of operation has insured more than 9,500 ships producing US$ 154 million in premiums whilst returning to its Members  US$ 140 million in claims.

The Association currently provides insurance coverage against Hull & Machinery Risks, Increased Value & Disbursement Risks and War & Strikes Risks. Currently, it insures 20% of the Greek and Cypriot shipping companies which in turn manage 23% of the Greek-owned oceangoing fleet. Hellenic remains the largest and the only mutual insurance provider in the area.

All the activities engaged in by the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation, from the time of its establishment up to the present day, were funded exclusively by the profits of the Business Foundation.

The Business Foundation engages in different activities, of which shipping remains the most significant, continuing the tradition of its founder Aristotle Onassis, who was, according to Lloyds List shipping newspaper, the most important figure in shipping enterprise in the 20th century.

His shipping activities had started well before World War II.
