He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Star Bulk Carriers Corp. He was elected President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee for two four years term. He was, also, elected in the Executive Board of the European Olympic Committees. As of 2011 he is the Chairman of Euroclinic, a private hospital in Athens. From 2004 until 2010, he served as Chairman (Executive) of the Athens Exchange and CEO of the Hellenic Exchanges Group. From 2000 to 2004 he held the positions of General Secretary for the Olympic Games and of the Executive Director and Deputy Chief Operating Officer of the Organizing Committee for the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games. From 1990 to 2000 he served as the Deputy Governor (Executive) of the National Bank of Greece. He studied Economics at the University of Athens and earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from INSEAD, France.
